Our Story

How we met

Just your typical boy meets girl story, really. Except four years pass between meeting and figuring out that this boy and girl maybe should get to know each other better and go on a date.

We met through a shared job industry and shared many a night out, even group ski weekends away.  It wasn’t until Glenn sent Colleen an inspirational playlist as she was gearing up for the 2010 marathon that things took a turn. Discussions about music turned into discussions about, well, everything; emails turned into novels, and friendly acquaintance turned into romance.

Engagement

In a sea of 65,000 NYC marathon runners in 2010, Glenn and Colleen made eye contact, completely by chance, while she was running down First Avenue.  He came over later that day and met her mom, family and best friends.

Glenn knew once Colleen signed up to run the 2014 marathon with her sister, Carrie, that was the day he would propose. He jumped in at mile four as a surprise with the ring in his back pocket, intending to propose just outside the finish line on the street where he and Colleen first moved in together.  On this street they shared their first, "I love you." Twenty-odd miles and some very stretchy pants later, his plot was foiled, forcing them to meet back home in Brooklyn.

In the magic hour after a hot shower and before meeting up with friends for some much needed sustenance, Glenn got down on one knee on the waterfront in Brooklyn Bridge Park and popped the question.  An already special day became even more memorable. Colleen thought about it... she really thought about it....  then she obviously said yes, and now we’re all going to have a party in April!
